Dear Parents,
We have much to give thanks for as we celebrate Thanksgiving next week. I do hope all of you will have relaxation and a blessed Thanksgiving. After students come back on December 1, 2008, they only have two weeks until the end of the trimester. Trimester One ends on Friday, December 12. I have updated the gradebook to include future test grades and assignments. Grades are very accurate at the moment. Please look over your child's grades to make sure all tests, quizzes, and assignments are turned in. Participation grades will conclude on this date too. If students are not doing well in social studies, please email me immediately.
After Thanksgiving break, all of my classes will review for the test. Students will also take Chpt. 4 & 5 Vocabulary Test on Thursday, December 4. There are twenty terms students must know for this test. I will give a review crossword of the terms on Dec. 2nd.
There is a final Benchmark One Trimester Test on Thursday, Dec. 11. Students have worked on a Benchmark Study Guide since October that contains all of the information that the test will cover. This guide is available to download at the top of this page. Students take benchmark assessments in most of their classes and I consider this a very important test. There are 29 multiple choice questions on the Tri. One Benchmark and I have weighted the grade five times, which means it is worth 145 points. This grade is worth about five test grades.
